The journey began with the trip his mother took when she drove back with him to Fitzroy Crossing, from the little northwest port of Derby, where he was born. Having spent a good part of his life in outback Australia, Joel was able to draw on his experiences of living and traveling over this vast continent as a source for the twelve original songs on his debut recording.
Joel enlisted the services of internationally acclaimed pedal steel guitarist, Lucky Oceans as producer and instrumentalist. Other well known country music artists who contributed to the project included Jim Fisher, John Short, Simon Le Man, Brian Booy and Larry Spaulding. Harmony vocals were provided by Jodie Bell of the Jam Tarts, Jim Fisher and David Milroy. The engineer for the project was the well regarded Dave Upsom.
"Out On Highway One" has been released as a cassette and can be purchased using the Albums Order Form.
